Descending 04:00
If there is an entrance, I can’t see it It should be here or just below me I’m descending into darkness, I’m descending into the unknown. Do I see a hole behind the stone? The pathway into the unknown. The hall is empty, looks like no one’s been here before It seems to go until the end of the World I’m descending into darkness, I’m descending into the unknown. Inside the Earth, under the ground Under the roots of the trees. Pale figures, unusual positions Could be some ghosts and electricians I’m descending into darkness, I’m descending into the unknown. Inside the Earth, under the ground Under the roots of the trees. The inner space, the inner sun Under the roots of my mind I’m descending into darkness, I’m descending into the unknown.

I heard the bells, I heard the chimes Through the wells and through the pipes Someone still plays or are they just the waves Only few of us recall The town, the cathedral, the graves Do they still live under water? Can you hear their sighs? Do the bells chime till the end of times? Till the end they chime. Listen closely, you can hear the people Die da die da die Listen closely, you can hear the sounds Die da die da die I heard the storm, I heard the waves I heard the chimes from underwater caves Swallowed by the sea, there lies the town Only few of us ever saw Kêr-Is, the city that drowned Do they still live under water? Can you hear their sighs? Do the bells chime till the end of times? Till the end they chime. Listen closely, you can hear the people Die da die da die Listen closely, you can

Then we leave the station behind Then the curtain falls Then another station that I Could not see at all

Cold decay, abandoned place Peculiar looking fellows Someone wears a high top hat And latex pantyhose Sneaking in, through the gate Down the path, turn right Past the dark, I can find The bondage disco light And then I see you there Different from what you once were You make me intrigued, you make me scared, make me scared Now you are standing there Different from what you once were I feel the need to follow you The DJ plays 45s by Coil, Die Form and DAF Vinyl boys dance with me Till their master’s had enough So I am left alone and this could be too much I feel like a voyeur now. I see but I won’t touch And then I see you there Different from what you once were You make me intrigued, you make me scared, make me scared Now you are standing there Different from what you once were I feel the need to follow you Different room, different gloom Deeper underground Private cage, private rage No bondage disco sounds I am here alone, I am the outsider I’m the voyeur now, I am the intruder The DJ plays 78s by Schönberg, Webern next Did I find the place for me? Now I feel perplexed And then I see you there Different from what you once were You make me intrigued, you make me scared, make me scared Now you are standing there Different from what you once were I feel the need to follow you

Then we leave the station, then another one Into the tunnel, hiding from the sun. The train goes on and on, goes through the land I’ve never learnt to know The train goes on and on, goes through the land I’ll never learn to know Now the curtain falls covering the train I can’t see the stations, I cannot see the sunlight The train goes on and on, goes through the land I’ve never learnt to know The train goes on and on, goes through the land I’ll never learn to know What may be outside? Shall I ever know? Some say there’s a tunnel, some say there’s a hole The train goes on and on, goes through the land I’ve never learnt to know The train goes on and on, goes through the land I’ll never learn to know

Now I’m reaching the street That used to be longer many years ago Now I walk past the building where the shadows lived many years ago Calling me from the deep Now I see the figures on the streets and walls Hear the sound underground I fall on your shadow and through the building’s walls See me hide, I’m going inside, into the shadow See me hide, now I am inside, inside the shadow Waiting, the building is empty I hear a sound from the other room Waiting and waiting again Then it’s time to go through the other door Through the door, through the wall I hear the sound that I heard many years ago Calling me from the deep I know I saw these figures many years ago See me hide, I’m going inside, into the shadow See me hide, now I am inside, inside the shadow Shadows that I saw so many years ago All the sounds I heard so many years ago There on the walls, there on the floor See me hide, I’m going inside, into the shadow See me hide, now I am inside, inside the shadow

Next we will see an ordinary basement Where people keep the bags and clothes they don’t need anymore Empty concrete walls, full and empty cages Who knows what was inside them before Who has been behind this concrete wall? Who has ever gone through the door? Who knows the function of this old device That I cannot use anymore? Were you left behind, now were you left behind Are you still behind the wall? Stockholm syndrome or profound submission Desire to still do what once made them pleased Noble mission or profane condition Desire to still feel what they once achieved Who will find the key to the tiny cell where I used to hang on the wall? Who will find the key to the cuffs and belts, The key that kept us in this hall? Were you left behind, now were you left behind Are you still behind the wall? Who will leave their junk in this empty cage? What they don’t know they want to ignore Empty concrete walls, full and empty cages Who knows what was inside them before Gentrification and renovation We went further underground, under the floor Nowadays this is an ordinary basement Where people keep the whips and ropes they don’t need anymore Were you left behind, now were you left behind Are you still behind the wall

Then we leave the station, the curtains close Hiding the view, covering my mind The curtains stay closed hiding the view But I see a tunnel I see a deep hole I see through the hole and I look outside I see a different life, I see a different mind People stand and walk like those I’ve seen before I get new ideas I’m not allowed to find I go through the hole and then I am outside I see a different world, I see a different mind People stand and walk like those I’ve seen before I get new ideas I’m not allowed to find The tunnel’s already wider, the curtain will be torn It will be transparent, the fading has begun I’m waiting for the time, I’m waiting for the light I’ll find new ideas, I’ll find another sun I went through the hole and now I am outside I see a different world, I see a different mind People stand and walk like those I’ve seen before I get new ideas, I’ve found another sun
